Predictions for Week 8 of the 2025 College Football Season

I apologize to all who view my posts as I have been away from the blog. But I sure missed a lot while I was away – James Franklin is out, Jerry Neuheisel is in, and Texas is…not back, folks.

It feels like 2007 again with all the ranked upsets, headlined by Louisville nipping #2 Miami and Ole Miss losing for the first time at Georgia. I will say, Ole Miss is better than they’ll get credit for because of that loss.

Ohio State is dominant as though it is 2006 again, but despite the struggles of Penn State and Michigan thus far relative to OSU in the record, OSU’s schedule isn’t as easy as it looks. Texas A&M is 7-0 for the first time since 1994, so the block is hot in College Station. Let’s see if they survive death valley.

Because of the time of this post, I will only pick the later games this week that didn’t start at noon. I will include the outcomes of previous picks that I made but didn’t share here later.

Auburn def. Arkansas (-2.5), 31-27

My parting shot for the week is: After Luke Fickell left Cincinnati, who would have imagined, that after taking the Bearcats to the CFP as a group of 5 team, that Cincinnati’s next coach (Scott Satterfield) would have them in position to potentially secure a playoff spot as a conference champion of the Big 12?
